Cars in German City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who discovered a car in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they added.

City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for information.

A senior political figure commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
